PaidCorrectly Privacy Policy
Who we are: PaidCorrectly is operated by Michael Quintero, 119 Preston Park Dr, Duluth, GA 30096-8813. Contact: hello@paidcorrectly.com.
The short version
- What you type into the check isn't saved on our servers. It stays in your browser tab.
- No account. No uploads.
- We use three outside services: Cloudflare (hosting), Stripe (payments) and Beehiiv (waitlist and newsletter emails). Each is described below.
- The waitlist form on our home page is provided by Beehiiv and loads from Beehiiv's servers.
- We don't use ad trackers, and we don't sell your information.
What you enter in the check
- Nothing you type is sent to our server until you run the check. Then your plan terms and deal numbers are processed in memory to work out the result and dropped. We don't save them on our servers, in a database or in logs.
- As you type on the check page, your entries are autosaved in that browser tab's session storage, so a refresh doesn't lose them.
- The tab also holds your last submitted entries, your free result (status, issue count, estimated range and number of readings; no deal lines) and, after checkout, a signed report token. The token has an expiry and a fingerprint of your inputs, not the inputs themselves.
- PaidCorrectly itself uses no cookies. The check keeps what you enter only in this browser tab's session storage, which 'Clear my data' removes and which disappears when you close the tab. We use no other browser storage. The Beehiiv sign-up form on the home page may use its own, under Beehiiv's privacy policy. There's no fixed expiry, and a new tab starts empty. Some browsers restore session data after a crash or restart.
- Please use labels like "Deal 1" instead of customer or employer names.
Technical detail: session storage keys cc.draft, cc.form, cc.check and cc.token.
Download my inputs
"Download my inputs" saves a file (JSON) of your entries to your own device, only if you choose to. It's created in your browser and isn't sent to us. Anyone with the file can see your numbers, so keep it somewhere private.
Your report
The paid report appears in your browser tab. We don't email it and we don't keep a copy. Save it as a PDF if you want it later.
Services we use
- Cloudflare (hosting). Cloudflare runs our website, so it sees your IP address and basic request details, as a host does for any website. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Stripe (payments for the $79 report). You pay on Stripe's own page. Stripe collects your card details, email and the information it needs to process the payment and prevent fraud, under Stripe's privacy policy. We don't send Stripe your commission numbers. If you leave Stripe's page without paying, the link back to our site carries no personal data. We can see that a payment was made, the amount and the email you gave Stripe.
- Beehiiv (waitlist and newsletter emails). If you join the waitlist or subscribe to our newsletter, Beehiiv stores your email address and subscription status for us. Beehiiv records whether our emails are opened and which links are clicked. Because the form loads from Beehiiv, Beehiiv and the services its form uses receive your IP address and basic browser details when you open the home page, even if you don't sign up. You can unsubscribe anytime using the link in every email. See Beehiiv's privacy policy.
We count page visits and button clicks in total, without cookies and without storing your IP address, browser details or anything you enter in the check. We don't add error tracking, ad trackers or outside analytics. The only outside code we add is Beehiiv's sign-up form on the home page. That form loads its own third-party services, such as Google Tag Manager, PerimeterX bot protection, Google Fonts and Cloudflare Insights. We don't control them; Beehiiv's privacy policy covers them.
How we use the information we do have
- Emails (waitlist, newsletter): to send what you signed up for.
- Payment records (from Stripe): to give you the report, and to keep required business and tax records.
- Visit statistics: to see which pages people use, in aggregate.
- If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use it only to reply and process your request.
We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- What you enter in the check: not kept on our servers (see above).
- Visit counts (totals only): about 3 months, stored with Cloudflare.
- We keep basic payment records (date, amount, and the email used at checkout) for 7 years for tax and accounting, then delete them. Stripe keeps its own payment records under its own policy.
- Email list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Children
PaidCorrectly is for working adults. It isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can clear your entries anytime with Clear my data, and you can unsubscribe from emails with the link in each email. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you. To ask, email hello@paidcorrectly.com. We'll respond within the time the law requires.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we'll say so on the site, and we'll email waitlist and newsletter subscribers.
